David began playing cornet at the age of 9 and joined his local youth brass band in Chorley soon after. He switched to playing trumpet at the age 13 when he joined the Lancashire Students Concert Band and became Principal Trumpet.
David went on to study music at The University of Huddersfield gaining a BMus (Hons). Upon receiving a PGCE David has held 2 Head of Music posts in Manchester and Warrington schools over 7 years, before returning to his trumpet roots in 2007 to become a brass teacher for Staffordshire Performing Arts.
When not teaching, David plays with The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment Band, a TA band based in Liverpool. With the little time he has left he performs in shows and concerts across the North West as a freelance musician.
David has been with Corus since 2002, enjoying the highlights of prestigious performances at the Commonwealth Games and the Bridgewater Hall as well as tours of Holland and Germany.
