Andy Wyatt

Andy started playing the tuba aged 11 at Bury Church High School. He soon joined the Eatons Works Band (formerly Kearsley Silver Band) in Farnworth near Bolton, Lancashire in addition to playing in various bands and orchestras at Bury Schools Music Centre. Next Andy went to play for the Besses Boys Band under the baton of Barry Chappell during which period he also joined the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.

In 1983 at the age of 14 Andy joined the Leyland Vehicles Band. This started a period of playing in the top echelon of the brass band world performing at all the major concert halls and competition venues in the country not only with Leyland but subsequently with Besses ‘o’th Barn, Brighouse and Rastrick, Britannia building Society (Fodens) - as part of which he won the European Brass Band Championships and BBC Band of the Year, before rounding his Brass Band Career off at the Wingates Band

In October 2007 Andy was invited to take over as resident tuba player with the Corus Brass Ensemble as his great friend and fellow tuba player Steve James had finally decided to retire from playing. He made his debut as a full member in the Christmas concert season at the end of 2007.  Since being with the group he has toured Germany twice and appeared on Mr Blooms Nursery in 2012 as part of the Harvest Special - so he is now the 'Tuba Bean'!

Andy attended the world famous Chetham's School of Music, studying under the late, great, Stuart Roebuck of the Halle Orchestra, following which he went to the University of Salford, graduating with a B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Information Technology. On leaving University Andy went to work as part fo the Graduate Programme at the Cooperative Wholesales Society in Manchester before leaving to work as an IT Consultant with CA Technologies.  CA is one of the worlds largest software companies and Andy worked for them for many years where he ended up as a Global Expert in Application Lifecycle Management Technologies, consulting to customers throughout Europe, the Middle East, the United States, the Far East and Australia - working in a total of 31 countries to date!

In 2013 he left CA to take his career in a new and exciting direction with Perfecto Mobile, a small but innovative software company specializing in a Cloud Based Testing Platform for Mobile Device applications and is enjoying life on the very cutting edge of technology.

He is very happily married to his understanding wife Tracey whom he loves very much and enjoys being a part of the community in Horwich, Lancashire where they live with their 4 boys.
